Newborn Session Guide

Thank you for booking a NEWBORN session with B. Quinn Photography! There are a few things you can do to help make sure that we get the best photos possible!

I include everything for the newborn sessions. The blankets, headbands, hats, wraps, bonnets, backdrops, baskets, props, etc. Please feel welcomes to bring anything that might be special to include in the session (ie: blanket, toy, hat, etc) but not necessary.

As for the morning of the session, please try to keep baby awake as long as possible before the session (obviously within reason). Also, try to wait to feed baby until you get to the session. Both will help make sure that baby is tired and then we can fill them up so they sleep through!

There are also a few things to bring with you to the session. If you are breastfeeding, please be ready to breastfeed more than normal while you are at the session. If you are bottle feeding, please bring extra bottles of formula/breastmilk. It is amazing how the camera comes out and they eat their way to tomorrow!

The session can take a little while to complete, we offer water, tea and coffee but you might want to bring lunch or a snack.

Last but not least, please bring a pacifier to the session. If you are not using pacifiers , a bottle nipple or your finger will also work well. This helps keep baby calm when we are posing them.

Newborn sessions can take a long time. I do not put a time limit on newborn sessions because as everyone knows, babies go with their own schedule! Newborn sessions on average can take between 1-4 hours to complete. There is a lot of sitting around, waiting for baby to eat, or calm, etc. Don’t feel alarmed if a few breaks are taken throught the session.

Thank you again for booking your newborn session with us, we are so excited to meet your new addition!
